Planning a wedding at the Iberostar Varadero, and just wanted to know if when you go and book a wedding date with the wedding coordinator does that automatically book the officiant performing the ceremony?…also do you have to book your restaurant right away for your reception or wait until you go to the resort? What about booking the photographer/videographer, hair/makeup appt? Also could someone give me an idea of a timeline of how their wedding went..when/where u had your first dance, ? Just anything would help and be greatly appreciated…Thanks! ~Tanya~
Yes, Belkis will book the judge. Depending on her availability will determine the time of day you have your wedding. So, the earlier you book the better. You can book your restaurant early if you want. Its usually not a big deal as the restaurants are never completely full. The Japanese may not be the best spot to have your wedding dinner so that leaves the Cuban (my prefence) and the Medditeranian (mostly seafood).The photographer, YES, book when you book your wedding. He is busy so it’s best to book him early as well as the videotographer. The photographer we had was Ebrium and he was great. The video guy was Angelo and he was awesome. Best money we spent on our wedding was our dvd. Hair, yes, tell Belkis you want to book her and she’ll take care of it for you. Not like the salon is overly busy or anything but nice to have it taken care off. We got married at 3. After that we had champagne with our guests on the beach, which is where we were married. Once that was over we had our first dance and then had pictures taken. Had family and friends pic’s taken first and then they were free to do what ever. We then had us pics done on the beach and through out the resort. Then I had a friend take some black and white pics for us and do some diff poses and it took us up until almost 7 which was when our dinner was. I am all about the pics so I knew the time spent between wedding and dinner would be used for this. You could also mingle with your guests or just go off and have a little alone time and marvel at the fact your married! ;DHope this helps. If you need anything else just ask.

Aidan, don’t you know a DW is not for planning, just going with the flow! LOL. Just kidding. We had our first dance after our ceramony. It was just more fitting for us with the live band there, etc…..I don’t know if you could have the band back in the evening.
Our best man gave a little speech at dinner and I mean a little speech. We didn’t want any as we didn’t want things to be traditional or formal. We wanted everything to be very laid back. This is your wedding though and if you want speeches then have them, if not, request so.
I think we had a couple speeches but that was it, and as newfie2 stated they were short and sweet. it was nice to just sit and enjoy the dinner and night without long drawn out speeches.
