San Antonio is more traditional than any other Cuban city I have been to, it’s not like Havana or Baracoa that are more western, is the city you go to if you want that Cuban feel on your vacation. This hotel is probably the best choice in this part of town but I can’t really say because it’s the only one I have actually used or stayed in. One advice I should give to you when planning to visit this hotel is that you should tune down your expectations, like I said earlier on, it’s pure Cuba here, nothing western at all. I stayed here for just like 3 nights and it was great just that it’s not a 5 star hotel when using European standard. It’s not a big luxury hotel but a descent accommodation to stay in. The rooms are nice, small enough and they are clean. The TV, air condition and bathroom functions well. You should request for rooms with swimming pool view, they seem better than those rooms at the corridor. The rooms look old but had this traditional kind of charm, if I visit San Antonio again, I will stay in this hotel. I noticed that cleaning out the rooms were a problem for the staff but it wasn’t that bad just that they can improve in their cleaning routine. Food was disappointing for a place like this that was really Cuban, I expected more from them, breakfast was horrible. When next I visit, if it’s not improved, I will probably eat in an off site restaurant.
