Medical supplies to santa lucia – Cuba – Debbie's Carribean Reviews Forums

I work in a major hospital in winnipeg and have the ability to with the blessings of my hospital to bring any expires medical supplies to cuba on my january trip to santa lucia…this would include any and all expired items such as throat swabs, gauze, bandages etc…they would otherwise be incinerated at the hospital….It would not involve any presciption drugs as these are tightly regulated.

My question is….can I do so without too much hassle from the authroities if it is for humanitarian reason.
Should I bring a letter from the hospital saying the supplies were obtained with the hopitals knowledge that they are expired?

It should be noted that these supplies I am bringing are all sterile and intact and never really expire and are safe to use but are more of a best to use before date as they would be in the sterlie packagining and completely intact.

I recognize the great people of Cuba could use many things but I could by all accounts collect a hell of a lot of good supplies for them while my manager turns a blind eye…perhaps several thousand dollars worth…

again….no drugs would be imported…just medical supplies….

as many comments as possible would be appreciated based on personal experience and legal obligations under Cubian law
