Sandals Montego Bay Reviews – Jamaica Hotels – Sandals Montego Bay

This was the first time I’ve stayed in Montego Bay. Thoroughly enjoyed this lovely property. In addition to a really warm and friendly feeling (like everyone is family), it was a week before Christmas and a very festive atmosphere. I was especially intrigued by the fact that the very first employee of Sandals still works on this property.

Room Number:
300

Room Block:
Almond

Arrival:
Upon arrival we were immediately whisked off the bus to the concierge lounge and quickly settled into our gorgeous room.

Rooms: Tropical, Spacious, spotless. Wifi was only retreivable from the balcony, but not a major issue…it’s Jamaica and we had a beautiful oceanview.

Especially enjoyed the walk-in closet, bar and double sink vanity.

Restaurants and Bars: Exceptional dining at all restaurants on the property, beach grill included. Really enjoyed the Tokyo Joes experience. Service and fare was so impressive at the Oleander, we dined there twice. Red Stripe is back at Sandals after a brief hiatus. Not so lucky with Appleton….it’s still being substituted with ElDorado. I find it rather outlandish that the biggest hotel chain in Jamaica can’t resolve its issues with the biggest rum distributor. Enough already! Bar tending and wait staff are among the best I’ve encountered on vacation.

Spent most evenings in the Cricketer’s Pint Pub enjoying the ambiance and fantastic service.

Beach/Pools/Grounds:
Two very small pools on property, well maintained. Great loungers and fresh, plush towels. The beach is long and lovely. Grounds are lush and groundskeepers are always on site primping.

Activities on and off the Resort/Hotel: Did the chukka tours jeep safari, about $80 pp. Highly recommend. Poor weather during our stay prohibited water sports. Spa is great alternative for red flag days. Red Lane provides top notch spa services.

Evening entertainment was fantastic every night. Especially memorable evening was with local entertainer Peter Lloyd. Amazing!

Other Comments: Shuttle to Sandals Royal Caribbean runs all day. Spent one day at SRC checking out property and taking in a few rare rays on the clothing optional private island.

Hated to leave. Will return to this property for certain.
