Singles resorts Varadero | Debbie's Caribbean Resort Reviews Forums

Going to varadero alone and looking for a resort for singles where I could meet other solo/single travelers and where there is also lots of group activities. Any suggestions?

I don’t know Varadero at all, but have heard Cuatro Palmas recommended for singles. Other possibilities are Barcelo Solymar and Arenas Blancas. I travel solo all the time, but Varadero isn’t my cup of tea.

Most resorts have an activities/animation staff so there will usually always been something going on. Joining in is a great way to meet people.

There are a few Varadero resorts with a reputation for being livelier party type places, especially for the younger crowd. Barcelo Solymar/Arenas Blancas is one of them.

Barcelo Solymar and even Sol Club Coral are nice for singles and not too far from main party places. I would suggest one of those 2 hotels if you wish to have fun in Varadero.

I’m not single, but I’m travelling solo. I ended up choosing Kawama, because I wasn’t looking for a Spring Break kind of place with people barfing in the pools. Everything I’ve read/heard about the place sounds pretty perfect for me. I’m shy but I don’t want to sort of glom on to a group and tag along with them, but conversation around the lobby bar would be great, you know? When do you hope to go?

I leave April 21 and I’m looking forward to not having someone all up in my grill 24/7. ;P

I wasn’t looking for a Spring Break kind of place with people barfing in the pools. Yak that would not be nice. I never saw anyone barfing in the pool but there was a guy who jumped drunk into swimming pool and hit his head off cement stool next to swim-up bar .. swimming pool was not blue anymore but red .. guy survived but he finished in emergency room.

Vomiting in the swimming pool is something I’ve seen once too often. Yuck is right!!!!I also avoid resorts with swim-up bars. Another yuck factor for me!!!! Too many people spend their entire time at the swim up bar drinking and never get up to use the proper facilities (toilet). No one has that much bladder control when they’ve been drinking that many mega Bubbas of beer.

OMG that is terrible. I will not go ever to swimming pool again. Anyway I am on the beach and almost never go to swimming pool unless there is volleyball game so that I can join.

Pee-up bars aren’t for me, either. Gotta love the ocean! At least all the pee is diluted.
